Futures Art School 2045
FAST45 (Futures Art School Trends 2045) was an Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliance that brought art schools, practitioners and researchers together to imagine and design the future of arts education. Its core question: what skills, literacies and mindsets will creative professionals need in 2045, in a climate-constrained, algorithmic future?
From 2021 to 2024, Xenorama was one of twelve partners, alongside eleven art schools, universities and cultural associations across Europe, with researchers from fields ranging from climate science to pedagogy. The consortium conducted more than 50 interviews about possible futures and developed them into narratives and video essays. Xenorama's own research ran on creative pedagogy, transnational learning and speculative design, and its focus bridged two domains: climate justice as a political-pedagogical framework, and algorithmic literacy, with code as a creative language.

CHAOS/MOSIS
The first workshop was a game. CHAOS/MOSIS is a speculative live-action role-play for future thinking in arts education, played at the FOOTNOTES 2045 summer school of School of Commons and the ZHdK in Zurich, 29 August to 1 September 2022. On site it was facilitated by Philip Bergmann and Thea Reifler of Shedhalle, with manuel arturo abreu joining remotely.
ART SCHOOL FUTURES LAB
Two months later, on 17 and 18 November 2022, Xenorama and Klasse Klima invited to “Imagining Climate Just Education in 2045” at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Potsdam (Room 2501). The free lab was open to students, teachers, researchers and strategic staff, so that the people who shape institutions sat at the same table as those who study in them. Together they developed images of the year 2045 in which climate justice is part of creative learning itself, beyond green-washing.
