As the boundaries between technology, performance, and spatial aesthetics continue to dissolve, projection mapping is emerging as one of the most dynamic fields in contemporary media art. At the MUTEK_IMG 2015 conference in Montreal, held at the Phi Centre, Xenorama was invited to contribute to this ongoing discourse.

Good evening from Tokyo! We just won the New Face Award at this year’s Japan Media Arts Festival (JMAF) in Tokyo with our augmented projection sculpture Radix.

We are honored to announce that Radix, our augmented projection sculpture, received the Object Mapping Award at this year’s Festival Internacional Mapping Girona. This recognition underscores the growing public interest in experimental forms of media art that challenge the boundaries between digital and physical space.

We were pleased to contribute to this year’s Resonate Festival in Belgrade, where I (Moritz Richartz) had the opportunity to present selected works from Xenorama during a workshop led by Elliot Woods of Kimchi & Chips.

In human perception light always spreads out in a radial manner from a source. What if light rays were instead arranged in parallel to each other in space? We have been addressing this research since 2022 in ongoing aesthetic and technical experiments in the DIOPTRICON project.
