INTRO
IMAGO CAELI with Stelzen-Art, 2017: a twelve-minute stilt performance in which the costumes become the screen.
We were honoured to present this stilt and video performance together with Stelzen-Art Bremen. The piece was developed by XENORAMA with Stelzen-Art, Oakleaf Stelzenkunst and Raummaschine. The costumes and the video-mapping technique were made specifically for the show, over more than a year of work by the participating groups (production page).
Highlights
Four groups, one live act
Over a year of development
Inflatable costumes with inner light
Light on white
A mobile projection unit with tracking and self-developed positioning software keeps the video on the performers as they walk (IMAGO). Projected light and colour play across the white costumes in organic, archaic and graphic forms, and the performers glow as they move on stilts. Inside, LEDs and a ventilation system keep the air chambers lit and under pressure.
The piece had been performed in Bremen before, in February 2015 at the Theater am Goetheplatz.
