INTRO
PACE Festival 2025 turned the former administrative building of the Rechenzentrum Potsdam into three days of exhibitions, performances, concerts and installations. Under the title SEQUENZEN, it ran from 24 to 26 October 2025, organised by Xenorama Production GmbH from inside the same building, where the collective has its studio.
PACE stands for Potsdam Art and Creativity Exchange. SEQUENZEN brought artists, media-makers and visitors together around the intersections of human, machine, material and imagination. In the festival's own words: “here musicians meet painters, media-artists meet performers — humans meet organic networks, artificial beings and vital materials.”
The programme followed that mix day by day. Friday opened at 7 pm with the vernissage of the media art exhibition and a performance; Saturday belonged to concerts, DJs and the exhibition; on Sunday the rooms opened again from 2 pm for a last visit and the closing.
Key challenges
Organiser and exhibitor in one building
Stage, courtyard, exhibition and club at once
Brain signals from walk-in visitors
IN THE BOILERROOM
Xenorama showed two interactive works in the Boilerroom. In The Imaginator, visitors type a keyword and an eye tracker follows their gaze: wherever they look, AI-generated images appear, meandering and overlapping into a composition (video). Xenorama made the visuals, programming and real-time sound.
Landscape of Perception came out of a collaboration between Xenorama and the media artist Naz Yigiter, who shared the visual composition. Translucent plastics, mirrored panels and projection light stand in for natural phenomena such as light and water. Visitors wear an EEG headset that reads five mental states (arousal, focus, drowsiness, meditation and neutrality), and each state sets off visual and sonic compositions generated in TouchDesigner and Max/MSP from AI-driven image prompts. The work frames perception “not as passive observation, but as a living, co-created landscape.”
The exhibition showed Water by Seoyeon Lee (@seon1ee), FOSSIL_LIFE by Craig Harvey, DOTYK by Varvara Hryhorova, Fernanda Candas and Anastasiia Sviderska, Odraz by Varvara Hryhorova, DOPPELGÄNGER by Jim Kramer and Rosi Pernthaller, the space between by Charlotte Tritt, Emilia Gentis and Peter Schaub, and Das Ding by Margarita Gehl, Jonas Peschel and Constantin Ruchay. Five of these works grew out of HTW Berlin Communication Design.
STAGE, COURTYARD, NIGHT
On the Kosmos Stage played Athenaïs (@athenais.music), the jazz-fusion band Crome, Dolphin Love (@dolphiinlove) and the rapper ildikó (@ildiflow). In the courtyard, Trip Bus by Henning Günther (Henn Miller), Barbara Steinitz, Oscar Loeser and Clemens Kowalski turned a van into a stage for live music and live visuals.
The after-show party at Spartacus in the freiLand Potsdam was hosted with NON GRATA: Burkhart Brand, Ellen Trenn, Katze Storno, DJ Don Höschen and DJ Hanni. The workshop programme was run with Aufstehen gegen Rassismus.
