Micromapping is the category for projection onto objects at small scale, where image and form have to meet precisely. RADIX, a XENORAMA work, won it. The root's spatial shape was captured through 3D scanning and extended with 3D-printed polygon elements, so the projected imagery is built directly onto the object's own form; in an ongoing play of light and sound, the piece moves from its natural, organic shape toward a technical one.
