RADIX on the Lumen Prize shortlist, shown at Hackney House in London, September 2016.

The Lumen Prize recognises digitally created art on a global scale, and its shortlist spans the whole field. RADIX, a wooden root sculpture augmented by projection and sound, stood in that company as a physical object (XENORAMA).

From Frankfurt to London in half a year

Reinstalled for Hackney House

The London showing came six months after the premiere. RADIX had opened in March 2016 at the Senckenberg Museum in Frankfurt, produced for the Luminale, and in July it had won in Girona. A sculpture travels differently from a file: the root was shipped to London and the projection set up on it again.
