INTRO
CONSTRUCT is a synthesis of audio and video material in which each influences the other through generative processes. It is a solo work.
The basis is an animation in Flash: several photos and vector graphics were animated and expanded with scripted events. Subclips were rendered from it and mixed with new generative elements in a further loop, so the material kept passing back through the process.

AT THE BREMINALE
The Breminale is a five-day open-air culture festival on the Osterdeich in Bremen, held every summer, with live music at its centre and a programme that also takes in film, literature and performance. Admission is free, under the motto “Kultur für alle” (Breminale on Wikipedia). Where the Istanbul showing was in a gallery, this one was at a festival for a general audience; in 2011 the biggest crowds came for Joy Denalane, Jupiter Jones and Pohlmann.
Afterwards the audio track and the video were analysed in After Effects. With the resulting parameters, effects were generated and controlled, which allowed an additional chronological composition. CONSTRUCT was shown at four events: the FASS Art Gallery in Istanbul in April 2011, the Breminale festival in Bremen in July 2011, the NYIT-NUPT Film Festival in Nanjing in April 2012 and the Eszterházy Film Festival in Eger, Hungary, in 2012.
