In human perception, light always spreads out in a radial manner from its point of origin. DIOPTRICON asks what happens if light rays are arranged in parallel. Since September 2025 the work is on view at the Light Art Museum Budapest.

The question has occupied XENORAMA since 2022, in aesthetic and technical experiments with frames, reflective surfaces and lenses (DIOPTRICON). The result is an individually experienced installation in which light becomes a space-forming medium: depending on where the viewer stands, it forms enclosed structures, enters into a relationship with the body, or opens into an apparent infinity.

More Than Human

In Budapest DIOPTRICON is part of the group exhibition “More Than Human”, which opened on 10 September 2025 and runs through August 2026. Nearly forty installations by international artists share one invitation: to look past a human-centred view of the world.
