INTRO
GEZEITEN, German for “tides”, is XENORAMA's media architecture for the German Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven. In 2021 it was nominated for the Media Architecture Biennale Award at MAB20 in Amsterdam.
The FRAME LED installation runs around the museum's Bangert building and stages the exhibits inside as if on display. Four spatial projection surfaces extend it with higher-resolution content on climate and ocean research, with sound, built around a tide calculator from the former GDR. The work was made for the building's reopening in 2020 and the 30th anniversary of German reunification, with Westermann Kommunikation, Dirk Mailänder and Lightlife as partners (Xenorama).

A biennale about implied futures
MAB20 ran under the theme “Futures Implied”, asking which futures today's urban transformation and new technologies, from digital platforms to smart-city promises, already imply. The awards were presented live from Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam between 30 June and 2 July 2021 (MAB20).
