INHOMOGENOUS is dedicated to the process of architectural creation. The Karlsruhe castle‘s ornate baroque facade is deconstructed into its basic graphical elements. Dots, lines and faces provide the structure for a journey through alternative architectural formations and a playful exploration of styles and design principles.

Starting from a highly abstract dot matrix, the castle’s facade passes through different stages of design – dots become lines, lines assemble to grids, surfaces, volumes and, finally, to new possible and impossible architectural bodies.

INHOMOGENOUS was commissioned by the zkm for the Schlosslichtspiele Karlsruhe 2017
