INTRO
Landscape of Perception is an immersive installation that explores the interplay between human cognition, sensory perception, and machine mediation.
In this edition, "Passage", the work is restaged as a walk-through: layers of translucent curtains hang along a corridor, and the generative landscape is projected onto and through them, so the visitor moves inside the image rather than in front of it. Participants wear non-invasive EEG headsets that capture real-time neural activity, including metrics related to attention and relaxation. These signals steer both the machine-generated visuals and the reactive sound, so subtle shifts in attention and focus reshape the space around the person wearing the headset.
Key challenges
EEG control and infrastructure
AI-driven generative visuals using machine-learning models
Sound-reactive environment responding to EEG feedback
THE OUTCOME
Passage was shown at Berlin New Media Week 2026, the citywide festival for digital art and electronic music that ran from 2 to 6 September across galleries, clubs and cultural spaces in Berlin. The first version of Landscape of Perception premiered in the Boilerroom of the 2025 PACE Festival in Potsdam.
