LUMINOUS OBJECTS at GOLDSTÜCKE 2025, the light art festival held in Gelsenkirchen's 150th anniversary year.
In early October 2025 the urban heart of Buer, the city centre of Gelsenkirchen, became a canvas of light, media and public art. GOLDSTÜCKE has run since 2019, backed by the Sparkasse Gelsenkirchen Foundation and ELE; this edition belonged to the anniversary programme under the theme “Active Positive” (City of Gelsenkirchen).
XENORAMA brought two editions of the series, LUMINOUS OBJECTS Wireframe and LUMINOUS OBJECTS Hommage, into the Robinienhof Passage. They shared the passage with Gertjan Adema's “Marbles”, a large rotating marble run about the exchange between inner growth and outer expression.

A walk-through passage as exhibition space

Image and object
LUMINOUS OBJECTS is an ongoing artistic study between image and sculpture: three-dimensional objects stand on light-emitting screens and are lit by synchronised virtual lighting and animation, with custom sound. Edition 1 (2018–) pays homage to the lens, the prism and the cube as forms foundational to screen technology; Edition 2 (2022) traces polyhedron wireframes with intersecting metal rods.
